Each of my bedrooms overlooks Loch Carron.
Each has tea & coffee making
facilities, a separate sink, TV and radio, a sitting area and
of course a comfy bed!
There are ensuites in 2 of the 3 rooms,
while the third bedroom has its own bathroom.
There is ample off-street parking: very
important in Plockton, as on-street parking is scarce.
Information and brochures about the area are
available in each room, and I am always happy to recommend things to do
and see around the village and in the area.
I also sometimes have a jigsaw 'on the go' in
the front porch that guests are welcome to work on. They can be highly
collaborative efforts! In the porch I also keep binoculars for us all
to watch the doings in Plockton Bay and Loch Carron and where there are
brochures about the history and wildlife of the area and walking tracks
in the village and region.
My garden has lawn, vegetables, flowers,
heather and shrubs, trees, rocky outcrops and seats for enjoying the views.
Plockton
is very close to the Isle of Skye and is also a great base for serious
walking or just gentle strolls. Bring your camera, binoculars, walking boots, midge repellent - and rain jacket!
The village has a wee shop where film,
stamps, food and other supplies can be purchased.
There is also a newsagent, several gift shops and galleries
and several eating and drinking places (see the Plockton page for some
recommendations).
It's also on the famous Inverness-Kyle
railway, which I think is an excellent way to arrive in Plockton.
